Top Ten Tuesday was started way back in June 2010 by The Broke and The Bookish. It was then taken over by That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. Every Tuesday, Jana assigns a different topic for discussion. You can find the scheduled list of topics on her blog.
Today’s TTT is about books that you are avoiding. I personally am avoiding quite a lot because a lot of the books I own are incredibly hyped and it not only puts me off but makes me really excited to read them. Which also puts me off 🤷♀️. Every time I try and decide what I am going to read I’m like ‘no I can’t read that I have to save it’. 😬
Soooo long story short what I am saying is narrowing down this list to just 10 books is going to be difficult. Wish me luck and let’s get into my top ten books that I am avoiding.
The bronze horsemen- Paulina simons
Ok this book has been on my tbr since 2014 and I’m avoiding this one at all costs, not because I don’t like it, but because I have had it for so long and while the synopsis is still interesting I still don’t have the desire to pick it up.
The last magician- Lisa maxwell
I absolutely love time travel books. I think the reason I’m avoiding this book is because I love time travel books but also because I have read so many. So now I’m worried I won’t like it.
A court of wings and ruin- Sarah J. Maas
Ok so the only reason I am avoid this book is because I have heard it’s not as good as the second. I loved book 2 and am perfectly happy to just leave it at that if book 3 is not as good😆.
The pillars of the earth- ken follett
1,000 pages!! That’s the reason I am avoiding this book because that is a lot of pages. I will read this but ahh that’s intimidating.
Godsgrave- jay kristoff
I am avoiding reading this until I can afford to buy darkdawn because I know it is going to crush me and so I need to be able to read book 3 straight away.
Thunderhead- neal shusterman
The same goes for this one actually. I hear that it ends on a cliff hanger so I need the toll before I can read it.
Spin the dawn- Elizabeth lim
I am so excited for this book and the synopsis sounds so good but because of the mixed reviews I am avoiding reading it.
Vicious- V. E. Schwab
I have loved every single Schwab book I have read and because of that I’m hoping to really love this one, I’m avoiding it because what if I don’t love it😁.
Our dark duet- V. E. Schwab
I loved this savage song but I hear the ending to this is sad and now I can’t bring myself to read it.
Grey sister- mark Lawrence
I have no idea why I am avoiding this one because I really enjoyed red sister. I am a person who loves having a series completed before I read the books just in case of cliffhangers etc.🤦♀️ If I buy holy sister maybe I will pick it up (yes this is an excuse to buy books)😁
So after reading this my only thought is that I need help🙈 and that I need to avoid hype and to just scream at myself READ THE BOOKS YOU IDIOT!!!! Let me know in the comments below books that you are avoiding and why?

Holly reads a lot
